Capital Java User Group
The Capital Java User Group is a group by and for Java users. If it's related to Java software development, we'll talk about it here. So far we have had presentations that dealt with Amazon S3, Spring, Google Maps, JUnit, JUnit Perf, Groovy, Grails, Web Development, I-Text, NetBeans, Java Server Faces, Java Concurrency, OSGi, Ajax and much more. If there is a Java related technolgy that you would like to hear more about, let us know. Better yet, if there is a Java related technology that you want to tell others more about, let us know. We are always on the lookout for new speakers with interesting Java related topics. While we will welcome the participation of sponsors, no vendor will be directing the content or activities of the group. The value of this group to any of us, depends on all of us.
Surviving the IPocalypse: IPv6, Linux, and You
Everyone who has a presence on the web is going to be forced to more about IPv6 in the coming years. Get ahead of the curve!
Quick, grab your smartphone, e-reader, computer and family (in that order), pack some supplies, and head for the hills! (except in Kansas, which is too flat.) The Internet as we currently know it is coming to an end!
We're running out of host addresses! In a matter of months, not decades they will all be used up. Are you prepared for the single biggest network event since broadband?
Say goodbye to your old friends like 209.85.225.99 and hello to 2001:4860:b007::6a (google.com). The existing IP version 4 numbering system with 32-bit addresses is nearly exhausted. In 2013, the last one will be gone. History! But, there is hope of rescue. It's not the cavalry, it's the Internet protocol version 6, with new-fangled 128-bit addresses, and it will impact every networked digital device, router and service you use.
What does this all mean?

CapJug July Meeting
"You have probably been hearing the terms “Sprints”, “Backlog”,
“Chickens & Pigs” for the last year or so and wondering what all
this has to do with software development. If you are interested in
finding out, this session will be of interest to you. We will cover the
basics of Scrum. Scrum is an agile development methodology to
iteratively and incrementally develop software systems and products
(especially when requirements are rapidly changing). We will explore
the Scrum process framework focusing on the 3 Roles, 3 Artifacts and 3
Ceremonies of Scrum. We will also touch upon Agile principles on which
Scrum and other iterative methodologies are based on."
