MPCUG: Raven Computers

This month's presentation will be by Will Miller of Raven Computers. They have opened a new storefront at the corner of Gilman and State Street in Madison. Inside are a few neon-lit examples of state-of-the-art top end computer systems; and also a nice comfortable sofa and strange and beautiful art works on the walls. Service Manager Will Miller will talk about the new storefront opening, and how a small computer hardware and services store can survive and thrive in a world of huge national chains of stores. Of course, CompUSA closed their stores, and now Circuit City is closing too. Miller will talk about his experiences in the business and about some entertaining dealings with computer users. He can also tell us about how to make sense of the various specs for new systems - what do the numbers mean, and what these rigs can do for you. The general meeting will be Wednesday, March 11 at 7 p.m. at the Community Room of the Village Cohousing Community, 1104 Mound Street, Madison, WI. The Community Room is located behind a courtyard, very near to the intersection of Mills and Mound Streets. The New Users and Digital Photography sessions meet very informally at 6 p.m. Come and get your questions answered. Our general meetings are free and open to the public. All are welcome.
